Dior Poison — Tell 92 · Shock

Hall of fame · 📉 Deflated · 1985

Eaten by its flanker. Wrote the blockbuster formula. The flanker read it. Dior sat twentieth in the US and ordered a hit under a scandalous name: out of eight hundred trials they picked plum, tuberose and incense from Edouard Fléchier. It worked: FiFi 1987, Adjani posters. Then reformulation muted the incense, and Hypnotic Poison outgrew the original by 1998. Half fair: the volume fell, not the scent. The bottle deflated, not the idea: Dior still eats off the engineered blockbuster — just under a different Poison.
