Parfums de Marly Layton — Tell 71 · Magnet

Hall of fame · 📉 Deflated · 2016

Aventus on fast-forward. Took Aventus's throne, then its fall, three times faster. Hamid Merati-Kashani stacked apple, cardamom and lavender over vanilla and sandalwood, and for years that became the new password of men's niche, where expensive perfume started. Then the Aventus script, only faster: Armaf, Lattafa, Zara, every second guy on the train, price up, formula flat. Now it's recognizable background — no worse, just nobody's. Deflated: the scent survived intact; only the word "expensive" washed off it.
