Dior Fahrenheit — Tell 75 · Showstopper

Hall of fame · 📉 Deflated · 1988

Petrol, watered down. They sanded off the edge and gave Sauvage the crown. In 1988 Sieuzac, Roger and Almairac put petrol, violet leaf and leather in a men's bottle — and the weird thing sold. Then oakmoss and castoreum limits forced a reformulation, and the rasp fans loved got flattened. Four spin-offs, Fahrenheit 32 through Cologne, went nowhere. Sauvage is the flagship now; Fahrenheit is "my dad wore that.". The scent didn't deflate — the bottle on today's shelf did. Vintage Fahrenheit still sets the standard; the current one is its polite echo.
