Synonym for Perfume. If you know one perfume name, it's this one. Ernest Beaux brought Chanel ten vials; she took the fifth. Out came the first abstract bouquet: aldehydes, champagne fizz instead of a rose smelling like a rose. Perfume could smell like an idea.
